Glendale's augustine

Gus is a 2022 Connemara cross gelding, standing at 14.3 hands and still growing a little. He is a spitting image of his impressive sire, Cloud’Poker Tartifume. Gus was bred by Deb Norman of Glendale Farm in Berryville, VA.

 

Gus enjoyed a slow and easy start by WRE in the summer of 2025, with lots of light flat work and tons of trail riding and hacks outside. Gus has traveled off the farm and competed in the Young Horse Show qualifier and finals, as well as cross country schooled on the line. He is happy to ride english or western, has a fantastic work ethic and is built for sport. Gus rides well in groups or solo and is great with dogs. He is uncomplicated on the flat walk, trot, canter, halt, backup and has a green lead change. Gus has done some exercises over poles and will begin over fences training as a four year old. He has been thoughtfully produced with the future in mind in a way that builds his confidence and fuels his curiosity. Gus is a very clever young horse who is eager to please and really wants to work. He is best suited for a sport horse home with someone who is going to develop him to his full potential and appropriately challenge his athleticism and mental stimulation.

 

On the line on the cross country course he has bravely explored the water complexes, up and down the banks, over logs and even ditches. ​​In the jump chute Gus shows a great natural jump and scope with tight knees. Gus is very willing and trainable while having incredibly comfortable gaits under saddle. He has become a cuddly and enjoyable guy in the barn who is easy to love! ​
